For a decade I wrote short stories for anthologies. Lots of short stories. I talked elsewhere about how the explosion of the "theme anthology" felt like a return of the pulp magazine. Each one custom made to appeal to the readers of a particular trope (sea monsters, dragons, goblins, or goblins versus sea monsters).
